Komli Media Announces Online Audience Demographic Results
The conclusive finding across all channels was that more than 80% of the respondents were male and at least 60% were in the 15-30 age group, indicating the skew of the Indian internet audience towards the young male.

August 5, 2008 (Mumbai, India) - Komli Media, India's leading technology-driven ad network today released the first ever demographic survey of its audience. The survey was carried out across four of Komli's largest content channels -- Travel, Technology, Social Networking & Business/Finance.

Developed in-house in consultation with experts familiar with statistical and sampling methodology, the survey's key findings were:

Travel Category:
A majority (62%) of the respondents are in the 15-30 yrs age group. However, 35% were in the 30-45 yrs age group. Most (38%) have a college degree followed by those with post-graduate degrees (30%). A majority (33%) are professionals. Also, nearly a fifth (17%) are employed in the IT industry.

Technology Category:
A majority (70%) of the respondents are in the 15-30 yrs age group. Most (39%) have a college degree followed, quite surprisingly, by those who are still pursuing a Bachelor's degree (28%). A significant portion of the respondents (31%) are students. Only 18% work in the IT industry, followed by 9% working in the Banking & Finance industry.

Social Networking Category:
Quite predictably, a majority (80%) of the respondents are in the 15-30 yrs age group. Most (37%) have a college degree. Though a majority of the respondents (40%) are students, as many as 22% are employed in the IT industry. The latter is especially interesting because it indicates that advertisers looking to target IT professionals should look at social networking sites very closely.

Business/Finance Category:
Most (67%) of the respondents are in the 15-30 yrs age group. However, more than a fourth (28%) are in the 30-45 yrs age group. Half (50%) are graduates, indicating a higher level of educational attainment than in the travel, technology and social networking channels. 25% of the respondents are in service and 17% work in the IT industry.

Across channels, a majority of the respondents are male and in the age group of 15-30 yrs; a relatively higher proportion are graduates; and roughly 20% work in the IT industry.
